Why The Come Up?

Let's Break it Down.

The situation as we know it

It’s become clear that the key to managing most of the challenges we face in life requires one major thing—resources. Money— to be exact. We know we need it but for all the schooling we get, we’ve only been taught to trade our time for money. You were told to get good jobs—basically fuel other people’s dreams while you put yours and your family’s hopes and dreams on hold. You were never taught how to make big money, how to not have it all taken through taxes or really grow it.

It was decided that secret would have to be something you’d learn at home from your family so they stopped teaching about finances in school. And just like that, if your family wasn’t already well-off you were cut off. If you wanted to be wealthy, you’d have to rely on luck or hope someone better off would pass their knowledge to you. In reality, most of us learned from trial and error or got financial advice from well-meaning people who barely had two pennies to rub together themselves.

What you learned about making money came from people who tried and either failed. So all the advice you got was about what they couldn’t do, or what they didn’t understand about how money really worked. Basically, their failures, limiting beliefs, ignorance and fears.  As a community, we haven’t been very good about sharing our success stories and more importantly what we did to get them. But don’t worry, there’s hope.

So What now

We’re in a new age. Things have changed and our people are starting to wake up. Technology has made the sharing of information incredibly easy and things that were secrets of the rich can be found easily online. The hard part is that it’s scattered far and wide across the web. This is where we come in. The-Come-Up is created as a resource for the Black community. The goal is to make game-changing information readily available to us. You won’t have to work so hard to gather all the right pieces of information to be able to change your family’s situation for generations. The information you get from us is not just theory and has been used successfully by the people giving it. Yes, we have receipts. If we haven’t done it and been successful doing it, we won’t speak on it. That’s our promise to you. All you have to do is apply it to your own situation and get things done. Doing is the big secret here. We’re not reinventing the wheel but we’re saving you potential lost time through trial and error. Use this information to make big change for you and yours and then pass it on.  Start with the articles in our mindset section and then let your interests guide you on where to go next. You got this! Together, we’ll change the game—the journey of a thousand steps begins with one. Let’s go.
